Dual Uni-Polar Tesla Coil
Tesla Coil wound with two parallel wires for secondary coils

Bottom wires connected together, top ends left free...

For this project I headed to my Dad's garage where the bigger toys are!

Turning the PVC form true...

Shop Vac comes in handy!  Lots of long threads of PVC.

Coil running true...

Cutting the first set of threads, 10 TPI.

Clearing away chips...

Completed, 10 TPI, round 1...

Time for round two!  Another set of threads were cut in the middle of the 10 TPI threads, also 10 TPI!

Turned lathe in reverse and inlaid 27 AWG wire...

Adding parallel wire.  What a pain!

Finished Coil

The only real corona and effuves are on the last few inches of each wire.

Effluves and phantoms do not cross!

Even 1/8" apart or less and the wires will not arc to each other...

Yet can be shorted together w/o problems.

When the wires are close together I've noticed that the sparks tend to jump from one wire or the other...

But when they are separated a bit they tend to both jump to the metal rod in my hand...
