Old World Pickles
Experimentation of a different nature this time.  3-4 day quick sun fermented pickles. 
We used pickling cucumbers, green tomatoes, and cauliflower flavoured with dill and garlic in brine.
3g salt / L water, or 4 tsp / qt.  Many thanks to Cip and Andreea and Cip's parents for their help with this.

We'll be updating this project daily for the next 3-4 days.

Day one was Halloween.  Cip's parents helped us prepare the vegetables.  We bought the jar at Target for $13.50.
(Maybe we paid too much?)

The jar is 2 1/2 gallons. 

Overnight I put it on the counter and caught hell for it leaking all over the place during the night, so it ended up on the back table.

Cauliflower tastes the best!

With Cip's help the next project should be pickled whole cabbage, like giant sour kraut.  That should be magic!
